Members of Halo Infinite‘s community are still suffering from major desync issues as evidenced by numerous threads and videos posted to the Halo Infinite subreddit and elsewhere. Although 343 Industries has been aware of Halo Infinite‘s rampant desync issues, there have been no signs of relief for the many players frustrated by this problem.
As the most recent entry into the beloved and long-running Halo franchise, Halo Infinite initially enjoyed a large number of players thanks to its free-to-play multiplayer model. Unfortunately, the game’s multiplayer has been the source of much frustration for fans due to a number of glaring problems. Poor performance, rampant cheating, matchmaking issues, and microtransactions are among a few of the issues cited by players, but perhaps the number one complaint is with regards to the game’s multiplayer stability.
In the past 24 hours alone, multiple videos have been posted on Reddit by different players showing examples of Halo Infinite gameplay being ruined by desync issues. Unfortunately, 343 Industries isn’t working on Halo Infinite‘s desync problems at this time. A 343 Industries employee responded to one of these Reddit posts, stating that developers who would normally be responsible for tackling desync issues are currently allocated to other tasks. However, it’s hard to imagine what tasks could be more important than a game-breaking issue at the forefront of the community’s mind, as many players are giving up on the game over the problem.
Although campaign co-op is finally coming to Halo Infinite, the lack of work on the desync issues is troublesome. It’s likely that these issues will extend to the online co-op, which may eventualy ruin an experience that players have been looking forward to for over eight months at this point.
Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
