Elden Ring is full of challenging areas, but for most players, Crumbling Farum Azula will rank near the top in terms of difficulty. While this makes sense given the fact that it is one of the final areas in the game, many Elden Ring players struggling here means the discovery of a shortcut to Maliketh is particularly exciting.

Though Maliketh is the final boss of the area, reaching him can be almost as hard as the fight itself if gamers are underleveled. Players need to fight through dozens of soldiers, beasts, and dragons, with a tough Crucible Knight also in their path. One particularly tedious section forces gamers to fight some birds and incantation users before they eventually clash with a dragon, though an awesome platforming trick lets players skip right to Maliketh.

This shortcut to Maliketh was shared by Reddit user Luvonir, and to start, players need to leap over some railing next to a tower. They can then land on some siding to break there fall before dropping once again. They then need to ride the elevator up to the top of the tower, and after this ride is finished, gamers will need to run past an enemy and an item. Instead of taking a risk or starting a fight, Luvonir puts this lone foe to sleep.

If players jump over the railing that is behind this foe, and aim for the corner as they fall down, they will land on a ledge once again. From there, Elden Ring players want to carefully hop around each of the pillars, sticking as close to the wall as possible. So long as they avoid falling, they can eventually hop over some railing to climb up a ladder. Once they reach the top of this ladder, they will be on the bridge to Maliketh and can run toward the fog door to fight him.

However, before players battle The Black Blade, they will want to use the stairs on the right side of the bridge. This way, they can activate the Site of Grace and spawn right at the bridge, avoiding the need to replicate this platforming. For anyone struggling with Crumbling Farum Azula, giving this parkour strategy a try could be worthwhile – though it may take a few attempts to get it right. Unsurprisingly, fans were quick to praise Luvonir for sharing this trick, giving the post 4,500 upvotes and sharing their excitement that they now have a way sneak by the pesky eagles.

Though the fight against Marika’s Shadow and half-brother is one of the best in the game, the pathway to Maliketh can be dreadful. Fortunately, Elden Ring’s parkour has come in handy once again, ensuring that the area is a bit less of a chore to get through.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
